The Angkar(1981)

The Angkar is a documentary that examines the Khmer Rouge's brutal regime through the lens of Tuol Sleng, a former high school converted into the notorious S-21 interrogation and extermination camp. The film draws on discovered records documenting the deaths of approximately 20,000 people who passed through the facility. Using the Khmer word "angkar"—meaning "organization"—as its entry point, the film explores how Pol Pot's regime operated under unwritten laws and systematic terror.
