Stratená dolina follows two friends and mountain hut managers fighting to protect their beloved Tatra valley from tourism and environmental degradation. Mišo and Dušan are passionate conservationists determined to preserve one of the region's last untouched natural corners. Armed with limited resources but genuine enthusiasm, they confront careless hikers and battle the encroaching pressures of modern tourism. This Slovak film centers on nature preservation and the personal sacrifices required to defend wilderness areas. The story captures the tension between protecting fragile ecosystems and the inevitable march of human activity into remote landscapes. It's a portrait of grassroots environmental activism in the mountains, where two dedicated men refuse to surrender their valley to exploitation.
