Men and Noblemen(1959)

Men and Noblemen is an Italian drama about class conflict and family loyalty. Nicola Peccoli has raised his orphaned niece Giovanna since childhood, but when she comes of age and falls in love with Mario, a working-class employee, Nicola's disapproval threatens to tear them apart. Bound by duty to his niece yet bound by social convention to his status, Nicola must confront his own prejudices as Giovanna fights for the right to choose her own future. The film explores the rigid boundaries of early twentieth-century Italian society, where love and ambition collide with tradition and class expectations.
