Fragments Part I – "Traviata" – Act III: Preludio, scena e aria is a classical music film capturing an iconic opera scene recorded during lockdown at Dom Radio in St Petersburg. Conductor Teodor Currentzis and musicAeterna spent extensive hours rehearsing and recording Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata to preserve its emotional depth. The project pairs each operatic performance with original visual interpretations by contemporary filmmakers. This inaugural installment features experimental video art created in collaboration with NOIR Films, a St Petersburg-based collective known for avant-garde cinema. The result merges meticulous musical performance with innovative visual storytelling, offering a fresh perspective on one of opera's most beloved works.
