Eight Men in a Castle(1942)

Eight Men in a Castle is a crime film that follows a husband-and-wife writing team, the Paladines, who stumble upon a potential story when they witness a news report about a shipwreck survivor's death. Intrigued, they seek out Lieutenant Dupuis for details—only to find him dead from a gunshot wound in his hotel room. Though police rule it suicide, the Paladines discover a train ticket on the body and decide to investigate. They board the train to a remote provincial destination, setting off a chain of events that unravels a far more complex mystery than they anticipated. What begins as research for their next novel becomes a dangerous pursuit into murder and deception.
