Freedom's Path(2023)
Freedom's Path is a historical drama following a Union soldier who deserts the battlefield and is rescued by Kitch, a free Black man living in the woods. Kitch shelters William in a hidden community of formerly enslaved people who operate a station on the Underground Railroad. When a determined slave catcher learns of their network, he launches a brutal campaign to destroy it. The film explores themes of courage, solidarity, and resistance during America's Civil War era, as ordinary people risk their lives to protect the vulnerable and defy an unjust system. Tension builds as the community faces its greatest threat, forcing William and Kitch to fight for their survival and the freedom of those they've sworn to protect.
