Beat(1997)

Beat is a crime drama following Min, a hardened young man from a broken home, as he's drawn into the mob underworld by a friend during his high school years. His mother's alcoholism weighs heavily on him, pushing him deeper into a life of violence and crime. When Min falls for Romi, a girl from wealth with ambitions of attending an elite university, their romance becomes another source of tension. The relationship forces Min to confront the gap between the world he's trapped in and the legitimate future Romi represents. As Min climbs the ranks of organized crime, his connection to Romi threatens to expose the contradiction between who he's becoming and who he might have been.
