Counterattack(2000)

Counterattack is a Chinese sports comedy about a TV host who turns a drunk boast into an unlikely underdog story. When sports broadcaster Ren Xiaoyu interviews Wang Dashan at a baozi restaurant, his guest drunkenly challenges the city's elite team on live television. The clip goes viral, forcing the station to make good on the promise. Xiaoyu and cultural official Qian Ning recruit the restaurant's owner and staff to form the "Baozi Team," shutting down the shop to train full-time. They face the well-funded "International United" squad in a high-stakes match that will test whether heart and determination can overcome resources and experience. What began as a joke becomes a genuine battle for pride, as ordinary workers discover they're capable of extraordinary things.
