Dis/Informed is a documentary that explores why ordinary people—including yoga moms—embraced conspiracy theories during the pandemic. Rather than dismissing believers as simply unintelligent, disinformation expert Dr. Charles Kriel and director Katharina Gellein Viken investigate the psychological and social factors that connect anti-vax sentiment to QAnon and other false narratives. The film travels across America to understand how misinformation spreads and takes root in unexpected communities. Through interviews and on-the-ground reporting, Dis/Informed reveals that the appeal of conspiracy theories runs deeper than surface-level gullibility, uncovering uncomfortable truths about trust, fear, and belonging in an age of information chaos.
