Prince of Happiness(2003)

Prince of Happiness is a tragic romance following Shuhei, a pianist and hospital director's son, and Umi, a gifted cellist from a modest restaurant family. When Umi wins a scholarship to study music in Austria, the two dream of leaving Japan together. But family duty pulls Shuhei toward medicine instead. His best friend Ryosuke, secretly in love with Umi, sabotages their final meeting before her departure. A truck accident leaves Umi unable to play, destroying her musical future. Shuhei, believing she's abandoned him, departs for Austria anyway. The series explores how a single moment of betrayal shatters two lives and the possibility of redemption across years and distance.
