The Bob Hope Show(1950)

The Bob Hope Show is a variety series that debuted on April 9, 1950, becoming television's longest-running variety program with 45 years on air. Hosted by the legendary comedian Bob Hope, the show rotated with other programs in NBC's Sunday night "Colgate Comedy Hour" block during the 1952–1953 season and was also known as "The Chevy Show with Bob Hope." When the first special aired in October 1950, it was the most expensive television program ever made at that time, costing $1,500 per minute to produce. For three seasons, The Bob Hope Show aired monthly on Tuesday nights, filling in for Milton Berle. Hope simultaneously maintained a radio show until ending it in April 1956. Beyond the main series, Hope also hosted "The Bob Hope Show (All Star Revue)" and performed in numerous television specials throughout his career, cementing his status as one of entertainment's most prolific performers.
