On The Waterfront(1980)

On The Waterfront is a martial arts drama following Gao Tianyuan, who lives in seclusion in the Tian Shan mountains with his wife Zhuo Feng'er after his father's dismissal from office. When they descend the mountain to reunite with his father, he is suddenly murdered and Feng'er defects to the rival Tianzheng Sect. Devastated, Tianyuan assumes a false identity and rebuilds his life until meeting Sikong Aoshi, who draws him back into the martial world. Driven by vengeance, Tianyuan becomes an official but his impatience triggers a costly error. He eventually uncovers that his father's true killer plots rebellion and dominance over the martial realm. Tianyuan and Aoshi join forces to stop the threat and restore order.
