Colourful Life(2001)

Colourful Life is a Chinese historical series set during the Tang Dynasty, following the Ching family, wealthy textile producers for the royal court. When the family's fourth son, Ching Chi Hin, is forced into marriage with Dun Ju, daughter of a Tibetan general, their union begins in mutual contempt. Chi Hin resents his bride, while Dun Ju dreams only of returning to Tibet. Their loveless arrangement shifts when Dun Ju encounters Luk Dung Jaun, a Tibetan official, who recruits her for a covert mission: locating the Tibetan Emperor's illegitimate son. Armed with three clues—a gold butterfly pendant, a jade piece, and a distinctive chest birthmark—the unlikely pair embarks on a dangerous quest that promises Dun Ju her freedom. As secrets unravel and their partnership deepens, the couple must navigate political intrigue, family loyalty, and unexpected feelings amid the grandeur of Tang Dynasty China.
