Pudong(2018)

Pudong is a Chinese series set during the financial reforms of 1986, when Deng Xiaoping symbolically gifted a Shanghai stock certificate to the New York Stock Exchange. The story follows three young people—Zhao Hai Ying, Xie Tian Yang, and Chen Meng Lei—as they navigate the seismic changes reshaping China's economy. Xie Tian Yang, an exchange student, becomes Zhao Hai Ying's fiercest rival in the emerging financial sector. When the banking industry faces crisis, Zhao Hai Ying becomes entangled in a massive fraud scheme that forces him to confront his deepest moral convictions. As ambition and integrity collide, the series explores how personal values are tested against the pressures of rapid economic transformation and the cost of chasing success in a changing world.
