Amanda's(1983)

Amanda's is an American sitcom that aired on ABC in 1983, drawing inspiration from the British comedy classic Fawlty Towers. Bea Arthur stars as Amanda Cartwright, the sharp-tongued owner of a seaside hotel called Amanda's by the Sea. Her staff includes her son Marty, his snobbish wife Arlene, chef Earl, and bellhop Aldo. The show marked Arthur's return to series television after a five-year absence following Maude. Despite featuring guest appearances from Jerry Stiller and Leonard Stone, Amanda's struggled to find an audience. ABC cancelled the series after just four months and ten aired episodes, leaving three additional installments unbroadcast. The show was filmed before a live studio audience at ABC's Hollywood facilities and later found new life in reruns on A&E.
