Death in the Land of Encantos(2007)

Death in the Land of Encantos is a 2007 Filipino television miniseries created by Lav Diaz. The five-episode drama was later edited into a nine-hour feature film released in 2013. Philippine poet Benjamin Agusan returns to his village of Padang after seven years abroad in Europe, only to find the community devastated by catastrophic landslides. As he wanders the countryside, he reconnects with friends, lovers, and family members whose lives hang in the balance. The series explores themes of loss, displacement, and the fragile bonds that hold communities together in the face of natural disaster and social upheaval.
