Tammy(1965)

Tammy is an American sitcom that aired on ABC for one season in 1965–1966, starring Debbie Watson as the title character. Produced by Universal City Studios, the show drew loose inspiration from three Tammy films featuring Debbie Reynolds and Sandra Dee, themselves based on novels by Cid Ricketts Sumner. Like The Beverly Hillbillies, which dominated the era, Tammy centers on rural characters navigating suburban or city life, complete with fish-out-of-water comedy and folksy charm. The series ran for 26 color half-hour episodes before concluding in March 1966. Though short-lived, it captured the rural-comedy trend that made similar shows popular with American audiences during the mid-1960s.
