Miss Shy(2016)

Miss Shy is a Thai series following seventeen-year-old Apiradee, nicknamed Nang, who is sent to an all-girls convent boarding school in Penang, Malaysia after a scandal involving a man makes headlines. Her father, a minister, hopes the strict Victoria School will teach her proper conduct. At the school, Nang encounters Thanathip, a handsome and rule-bound Thai consul tasked with overseeing Thai students' welfare. While he demands discipline and obedience, Nang's spirited nature threatens to upend his orderly world. As the two clash over expectations and propriety, an unlikely connection forms between the rebellious student and the stern authority figure. The series explores themes of coming-of-age, family honor, and the tension between tradition and personal freedom in a colonial-era boarding school setting.
