Phoenix Five(1970)

Phoenix Five is a low-budget Australian science fiction series that aired in 1970. The show follows the crew of the galactic patrol ship Phoenix Five, Earth's most advanced spacecraft, as they travel between planets protecting citizens from hostile forces. Captain Roke leads a handpicked team including the trigger-happy Ensign Adam Hargraves, compassionate Cadet Tina Culbrick, and their computeroid companion Carl. Their missions pit them against recurring threats: the evil humanoid Zodian and the rogue scientist Platonus, whose schemes test the crew's resourcefulness and resolve. Produced by Artransa Park in association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the series ran for twenty-six half-hour episodes between January and July 1970, then found audiences across Australia and internationally throughout the decade. Phoenix Five captures the optimistic spirit of early space-age television with straightforward adventure and practical effects.
