Tales of Mystery(1961)

Tales of Mystery is a British supernatural anthology series adapted from Algernon Blackwood's short stories. Broadcast by ITV between 1961 and 1963, the show ran for three seasons with 25-minute episodes introduced by John Laurie and produced by Peter Graham Scott. Each instalment draws from Blackwood's atmospheric tales of the unexplained, delivering period supernatural drama to 1960s audiences. Unfortunately, none of the 29 episodes that aired survive in any television archive, making Tales of Mystery a lost piece of British television history. The series remains notable as an early adaptation of Blackwood's work and a snapshot of how the BBC's rival network approached genre storytelling in the early 1960s.
