The Others(2013)

The Others follows Elif, an eighteen-year-old girl from a rural village determined to become a doctor at Istanbul University. When her father attempts to sell her into marriage, she escapes with Deniz, a sympathetic soldier stationed nearby. In Istanbul, Elif discovers that pursuing her dream requires her to abandon her hijab—a choice that forces her to reconcile her ambitions with her identity. As Deniz falls for Elif's resilience and conviction, the series explores the collision between tradition and modernity, personal freedom and family obligation, set against the backdrop of a young woman's fight for self-determination.
