The Second Wife(2013)

The Second Wife is a drama set in a rural village ruled by an oppressive Mayor who wields absolute power over its peasants. When his wife fails to bear children, the Mayor sets his sights on Fatma, a peasant woman, and demands that her husband Abu El-Ela divorce her so he can take her as his second wife. Trapped between the Mayor's tyranny and their own survival, the villagers face an impossible choice. The film explores themes of injustice, powerlessness, and the brutal consequences of unchecked authority in a community with no recourse against corruption.
