Plotlands(1997)

Plotlands is a drama series set in 1922 Essex, following Cockney widow Chloe Marsh and her two daughters as they escape the London slums for a fresh start on a small plot of rural land. Armed with little more than hope and determination, Chloe and her fellow pioneers face the brutal realities of country life without mains water, gas, electricity, or steady work. Living in tents while scraping together funds for basic shelters, they must transform hostile countryside into a functioning community. The series captures their struggle to build new lives from nothing, blending grit and resilience against the hardships of post-war rural England.
