Sancho from the Ranch is a Russian parody series that aired as part of the St. Petersburg television program Chameleon, directed by Yuri Mamin. The show presents a fictional Mexican telenovela within a clever dual-frame structure: viewers see both the melodramatic on-screen action set in sunny Mexico and the off-screen reality of an ordinary Russian family watching the broadcast with rapt attention. The twist lies in the family members themselves—grandmother, grandfather, parents, and children—who appear in the exotic Mexican roles they're ostensibly watching, blurring the line between audience and performance.
