Neighborhood Story is a romantic comedy series following Mikako Kōda, an aspiring fashion designer at Tokyo's Yazawa Art Academy who's building her clothing brand, Happy Berry. When her childhood neighbor and longtime friend Tsutomu Yamaguchi suddenly becomes the center of attention at school—thanks to his striking resemblance to singer Ken Nakagawa—Mikako's feelings for him shift from platonic to something deeper. Her confusion intensifies when Tsutomu begins dating Mariko, a popular and attractive girl. As Mikako navigates her creative ambitions and unexpected emotions, she must confront what her childhood friendship really means and whether her feelings can survive his new romance.
