Ultimate Measure is a Russian crime series set in Yaroslavl during 1974, following dogged investigator Egor Tabolin as he pursues two brutal crimes that converge on a single suspect. His investigation leads to Mikhail Nagornykh, the head physician of a psychiatric hospital, and his deputy Vaganov. The hospital itself becomes a focal point when Tabolin uncovers a pattern of unexplained deaths among patients over several years. As Tabolin digs deeper, the case grows darker, revealing corruption and sinister secrets behind the hospital's closed doors. The series balances procedural tension with the moral complexity of investigating powerful figures in Soviet-era institutions, where institutional power and personal ambition collide with the pursuit of justice.
