The Shaman

The Shaman is a Thai drama that follows Khor, a skeptical young man who dismisses the supernatural beliefs and sacred traditions his village holds dear. He openly rejects the veneration of the "Sleeping Godfather," a revered spiritual figure, and mocks the villagers' devotion. His defiance and disrespect seem to carry consequences when tragedy strikes: his only son dies under circumstances the community attributes to his blasphemy. Forced to confront the possibility that his disbelief may have brought divine retribution, Khor must navigate the tension between his rationalism and the village's unshakeable faith. The series explores themes of tradition, loss, and redemption as Khor grapples with guilt and the weight of his community's judgment.
