Patriarhat is a series set in the Bulgarian village of Yugla during the 1930s. Butcher Manol and his wife Bina welcome their son Rangel into a world shaped by tradition and hardship. Years later, as an adult, Rangel returns to document his birthplace through film, capturing the lives and struggles of villagers navigating a transformative era. The narrative weaves between past and present, exploring how personal history and collective memory intersect in rural life. Through Rangel's lens, Patriarhat examines the bonds of family, the weight of tradition, and the desire to preserve a vanishing way of life before modernization sweeps it away.
