Omertà, la loi du silence is a Quebec crime drama series that aired on Radio-Canada from 1996 to 1999 across three seasons. Created by Luc Dionne, the show explores the world of organized crime and the unwritten code that binds its members. The first season ran for eleven episodes in early 1996, followed by a fourteen-episode second season in 1997 and a thirteen-episode third season in 1999. Each episode runs forty-five minutes. The series found an international audience when France 3 broadcast it in France two years after its Canadian premiere. Omertà became a landmark production for Quebec television, blending gritty crime storytelling with character-driven narratives that examine loyalty, betrayal, and survival within criminal hierarchies.
