The Monster Behind the Iron Curtain is a drama series set in post-war socialist Yugoslavia. In 1948, Marjeta gives birth to twins, Metod and Cilka. Metod grows up isolated and volatile, bound tightly to his mother in a world of violence and state repression. His impulsive nature repeatedly clashes with society and the law, leading to psychiatric intervention. After his release, he finds work as a warehouseman and seems to stabilize, but alcohol, hallucinations, and psychological deterioration consume him from within. One night, the darkness he has suppressed for years finally breaks free, unleashing the monster he has always carried.
