Hope Island(1999)

Hope Island is an American drama series that aired on PAX TV during the 1999–2000 season. Reverend Daniel Cooper arrives on the remote Pacific Northwest island to reopen an abandoned church, hoping the quiet posting will help him heal from personal tragedy. He faces immediate resistance from the island's skeptical residents, particularly innkeeper Alex Stone, who has rejected faith. With support from Alex's young son Dylan, Daniel begins restoring the church while slowly earning the community's trust. As he confronts the past he fled, he discovers unexpected possibilities for healing, belonging, and romance. The series follows the interconnected lives of Hope Island's 1,998 residents as Daniel navigates his role in their tight-knit, quirky community. An American adaptation of the BBC drama Ballykissangel, Hope Island ran for 22 episodes.
