Bubblegum Crisis(1987)

Bubblegum Crisis is a cyberpunk anime series set in MegaTokyo, a futuristic city rebuilt after a devastating earthquake with help from the powerful Genom Corporation. Genom manufactures Boomers—biomechanical creatures designed to aid reconstruction—but the androids begin malfunctioning and attacking civilians. The ADPolice prove unable to contain them. Four women from different social backgrounds form an underground vigilante team called the Knight Sabers, equipped with advanced combat suits and weaponry. Operating in the shadows, they become MegaTokyo's only real defense against Genom's rogue Boomers and corporate control. The series blends action, noir atmosphere, and themes of corporate corruption with stylish 1980s animation and synth-heavy soundtrack aesthetics.
