Welcome to Sweden is a comedy series following Bruce, a New York accountant who abandons his Manhattan life after falling for Emma, a Swedish woman he meets in the city. When she returns home to Stockholm, Bruce impulsively follows her across the Atlantic, unprepared for the culture clash that awaits. Struggling to adapt to Scandinavian customs, the Swedish language, and Emma's tight-knit family, Bruce discovers that love alone won't bridge the gap between his brash American sensibility and Sweden's reserved, orderly way of life. The series mines humor from his fish-out-of-water predicament as he attempts to build a life in a country where nearly everything—from social etiquette to workplace dynamics—operates by unfamiliar rules. Bruce's earnest but often misguided efforts to fit in drive the show's heart and comedy.
