Mercy Street(2016)

Mercy Street is a historical drama following two volunteer nurses on opposite sides of the American Civil War. Mary Phinney, a New England abolitionist, and Emma Green, a Confederate sympathizer, work together at a Union hospital in occupied Alexandria, Virginia. Their conflicting beliefs and personal struggles illuminate the war's human cost beyond the battlefield. Based on true stories, the series explores how ordinary Americans navigated impossible choices during one of the nation's most divisive periods. As the women tend to wounded soldiers and navigate hospital politics, their friendship becomes strained by loyalty, ideology, and the moral complexities of war. Mercy Street moves beyond combat scenes to reveal the home front experience—the fear, compassion, and compromise that defined civilian life during the conflict.
