AACTA Awards(1976)

The AACTA Awards is an annual awards ceremony honouring screen excellence across Australian film, television and documentary. Continuing the legacy of the AFI Awards since 1958, the ceremony recognises craft across more than 40 categories—from acting and screenwriting to cinematography and costume design. Held yearly in Sydney, the AACTA Awards represent Australia's highest honour in film and television, judged by industry professionals. Often called Australia's equivalent to the Oscars and BAFTAs, the awards celebrate the country's finest achievements on screen. AACTA also presents the International Awards each January in Los Angeles, recognising screen excellence globally regardless of geography.
