The Nevers is a Victorian-era drama following the "Touched," ordinary people—predominantly women—who suddenly develop extraordinary and often unsettling abilities in late 19th-century London. Amalia True, a fierce and mysterious widow, and Penance Adair, a gifted inventor, emerge as unlikely leaders of this persecuted underclass. Together they establish a sanctuary for the Touched while battling entrenched social forces determined to suppress them. As these gifted individuals struggle for survival and acceptance, they challenge the rigid structures of their time, fighting to carve out space in a society that has no use for them.
