Virgin Road(1997)

Virgin Road is a Japanese drama series following Sakurai Kazumi, a jewelry designer who left Japan to study in New York against her father's wishes. Years later, when her father falls critically ill, Kazumi returns home—but she's pregnant and alone after a breakup. Desperate to spare her ailing father disappointment, she impulsively asks a stranger she encounters on the plane to pose as her fiancé. The man, Yoshimi Kaoru, a freelance journalist, unexpectedly agrees. As their fake engagement unfolds, the two navigate family expectations, unspoken feelings, and the gap between the lives they've imagined and the ones they're actually living. What begins as a convenient deception becomes something far more complicated, forcing both to confront what they really want.
