Eurolaul was Estonia's annual televised song competition, run by the Estonian Public Television Service ETV to select the nation's Eurovision Song Contest entry. For most of its run, an international jury determined the winner—a system that differed from how most other countries chose their representatives. Public voting was introduced in 2004 and 2005, but disappointing Eurovision results led to a return to jury selection in 2006. The competition's greatest success came in 2001 when it selected "Everybody" by Tanel Padar and Dave Benton, which won the Eurovision Song Contest outright. After years of poor Eurovision performances, Eurolaul was discontinued in 2009 and replaced by a new competition called Eesti Laul.
