Dummy(2020)

Dummy is a dark comedy series that follows Cody, an aspiring writer plagued by creative paralysis, who encounters Barbara—a discarded sex doll with a sharp tongue and sharper agenda. Barbara is the only one Cody can hear speak, and she's determined to help him overcome his writer's block, though her methods are as manipulative and self-serving as her personality. Spoiled and jealous, Barbara insinuates herself into Cody's life, blurring the lines between genuine friendship and toxic dependency. As Cody attempts to harness Barbara's chaotic energy for his writing, he finds himself entangled in her schemes and emotional games. The series explores the unlikely bond between a struggling artist and an inanimate object with very human flaws, examining loneliness, creativity, and the sometimes destructive relationships we form when desperate for connection.
