The Rules of Love is a fantasy romance series following Yang Luo Tian, a 19-year-old descendant of a sea people whose true identity is exposed whenever water touches their skin. After rescuing Lie Heng Yu from drowning during a university trip, Luo Tian falls in love and transfers schools to be closer, posing as a male student. When assigned as Lie Heng Yu's roommate, Luo Tian must juggle multiple secrets: their true gender, the ability to cry pearls, and the scales that emerge in water.
