Tango for Freedom is an Italian miniseries that dramatizes the true story of an Italian diplomat stationed in Argentina who risked everything to shelter over 300 people fleeing Jorge Rafael Videla's brutal military regime. Loosely adapted from Enrico Calamai's book No Political Asylum, the series follows one man's quiet act of defiance against state persecution during one of South America's darkest periods. With humanity and tension at its core, Tango for Freedom captures both the personal cost of moral courage and the lives saved by refusing to look away. The miniseries aired on Rai1 in January 2016.
