Charlie & Co.(1985)

Charlie & Co. is an American sitcom that aired on CBS from September 1985 to May 1986. Created by Allan Katz and starring Flip Wilson and Gladys Knight, the series was CBS's direct response to NBC's hugely popular Cosby Show. While that rival network hit ran for eight seasons, Charlie & Co. struggled to find an audience and was cancelled after just one season. The show attempted to capitalize on the success of family-centered comedy but couldn't match the cultural phenomenon that made The Cosby Show a television staple. Despite its brief run, Charlie & Co. remains a notable entry in 1980s sitcom history.
