Funky Cops is a comedy series set in late-1970s San Francisco, following two semi-competent detectives, Ace Anderson and Dick Kowalski, who prioritize looking cool and hitting the disco floor over actual police work. Despite their laid-back approach and questionable methods, the pair somehow manage to solve their cases by day's end. Their misadventures are overseen by their exasperated police chief, Captain Dobbs, while they receive occasional help from plucky reporter Miss Lee and fellow disco enthusiast Boogaloo. The show balances crime-solving with the era's groovy culture, blending buddy cop dynamics with 1970s funk and humor.
