God Mazinger(1984)

God Mazinger is a 1984 anime series created by manga artist Go Nagai that aired for 23 episodes on Nippon Television. Young sports enthusiast Yamato Hino hears mysterious voices during a thunderstorm and is transported to the parallel world of Kingdom Mu, a realm under siege by the evil Dorado and his Dinosaur Empire forces. Summoned by the prayers of Queen Aila Mu, Yamato is chosen to pilot God Mazinger, a colossal statue with devastating power. He joins the Mu army's fight against Dorado's invasion, discovering his newfound role as the kingdom's last hope.
