How to Make(2020)

How to Make is a design series that follows materials engineer and maker Zoe Laughlin as she deconstructs everyday objects to reveal the science and engineering behind them. Laughlin dismantles three classic items, examining how form, function and material combine in their creation. She then builds her own bespoke versions from scratch, walking through each step of the process. The series celebrates the ingenuity embedded in the ordinary things we use without thinking, offering viewers insight into the craftsmanship and technical knowledge required to design and manufacture products we encounter daily.
