Dying for a Crown(2022)

Dying for a Crown follows Lydia Campbell and her teenage daughter Elle as they start fresh in Florida after leaving Los Angeles under shadowy circumstances. Lydia takes a job as Assistant Principal at Bellview High, where Elle is a senior student. Desperate to reinvent themselves and climb the social ladder, mother and daughter become dangerously entangled in the cutthroat world of high school politics. When prom season arrives, Elle sets her sights on the homecoming crown, with Lydia's questionable support fueling her ambition. As their hunger for status spirals, the pair crosses ethical lines that threaten to unravel their carefully constructed new life. The film explores how far two people will go to escape their past and achieve social acceptance.
