Tropical Malady is a Thai film that splits into two contrasting halves. The first follows a tender romance between two men unfolding in the sun-drenched countryside, where attraction blooms quietly amid rural tranquility. The second half abandons romance entirely, plunging into the jungle as one man pursues an unseen, supernatural threat through darkness and fear. Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul weaves the personal and the primal together, transforming an intimate love story into something altogether stranger and more unsettling.
