Lisowczycy(1993)

Lisowczycy is a historical film about Alexander Joseph Lisowski, a Polish military commander born around 1575 who rose from common soldier to legendary cavalry leader. After serving under Jan Potocki in campaigns against Wallachia, Lisowski led a confederation of rebellious soldiers, earning notoriety for plunder and violence that resulted in banishment. He later served under Dmitri Samozwaniec, gradually shedding his infamy through military prowess. Upon his return to Poland, Lisowski established an elite cavalry unit that would become famous across Europe as the Lisowczycy, named after their visionary commander. The film chronicles his transformation from disgraced soldier to celebrated military innovator during a turbulent era of Eastern European conflict.
