Kunoichi: Deadly Mirage(1997)

Kunoichi: Deadly Mirage is a period action film set during Japan's Edo era. The Tokugawa shogunate enlists the Shinsengumi to crush the Imperial Court and consolidate power. Learning of this plot, the Satsuma Clan dispatches five female ninja from the Hiryu Clan to infiltrate and spy on the Shinsengumi. But a supernatural threat emerges when an ancient skeletal demon is resurrected with a singular purpose: to hunt down and kill the kunoichi while plunging the world into chaos. The film blends historical intrigue with supernatural horror as the ninja warriors must survive both political enemies and otherworldly evil.
