Rotation(1950)

Rotation is a German drama set during the Nazi era. Mechanic Behnke pursues party membership as a path to financial security, but the deportation of his Jewish neighbors forces a moral reckoning. Unable to reconcile his ambitions with the horrors unfolding around him, Behnke retreats into willful detachment, accepting work as a Nazi laborer while claiming neutrality. The film examines the quiet complicity of ordinary people who witness atrocity yet choose inaction, exploring how self-preservation and denial become their own form of collaboration. Behnke's attempt to remain apolitical becomes impossible as the machinery of the regime demands his participation, trapping him between conscience and survival.
